Solar Panels Mandatory On Watertown's New Commercial Buildings
The town is the first community in New England to pass such a requirement.

WATERTOWN, MA – The town council late last month approved a zoning ordinance requiring new commercial properties in Watertown to have solar panels. The community is the first in New England to have such a requirement, according to WBUR.
The ordinance also mandates that renovations of existing buildings over 10,000 square feet include solar collectors.
Town officials have been planning on passing legislation for some time; over the past few years, it has required larger developments to do solar assessments and feasibility studies, the Watertown TAB reported.
