Watertown Town Manager Gets $23K Raise

The town council on Tuesday approved a raise for Michael Driscoll, who has served as town manager for 26 years.

WATERTOWN, MA – The Watertown Town Council on Tuesday approved a hefty raise for Town Manager Michael Driscoll, according to the Watertown News. Driscoll, who previously earned $172,500, was given a salary of $184,000 in FY17 and $195,500 in FY18, amounting to a $23,000 raise.

Driscoll's new salary was approved through a town ordinance, which is how changes to the town manager's salary are made, the Watertown News reported. He was also given a $5,000 equity adjustment for FY17 and FY18.

Driscoll has served as town manager for 26 years. He is now the fifth-highest town or city manager in the area.
