• Terrain Opens Cafe, Garden Store And Event Venue In Wayland (patch.com) — Wayland residents now have a new destination for gardening, dining, and events with the opening of Terrain at 297 Boston Post Road in the former Whole Foods Plaza. Town officials and state representatives joined a ribbon-cutting for the home and garden store, which features an all-season nursery, cafe, and a large event venue for weddings and corporate gatherings.
   

• Longtime Wayland Senior Fire Captain Retires (patch.com subscription) — Wayland residents are saying goodbye to Senior Capt. Dan Buentello, who is retiring after more than 30 years with the Wayland Fire Department, including service at Ground Zero after 9/11. Known for his work on the District 14 Dive Rescue Team and his passion for fire safety education with local children and seniors, he's credited with leaving a lasting impact on the community.
   

• This Wayland nonprofit advises how to speak to kids dealing with grief (wickedlocal.com) — After an 8-year-old Sudbury boy died when a tree fell at a Wayland summer camp, a Wayland-based nonprofit, the Parmenter Foundation, is helping families talk with children about grief. Executive director Angela Crocker outlines available videos, courses, and one-on-one guidance so local parents, schools, and caregivers can better support kids processing their first major loss.
