I'm a ... Blogger?
So basically, I'm an ordinary mom with no pretensions, no agenda, and an undying love for the home team. Is that enough for a blog? Guess we'll find out.
I'm an unlikely blogger.
Not long ago, I thought no one could possibly have that much interesting stuff to say, and that people who thought they were that interesting had ... um, issues. Since then, however, I have read several blogs that keep me coming back for more.
Maybe there is something to this? I decided to give it a go.

I don't expect readers to like everything I have to say. And I definitely don't expect friends to read everything that I write! I'm a realist!
Like a lot of moms, my life revolves around my kids – school, sports, activities, appointments, play dates, and so on. Because of my daughter's medical needs, doctors are a bigger part of that life than I'd like. My 5 year-old son is versed in several different medical specialties and often mimics one or the other depending on his imagination.

Our family recently hosted a fundraiser, . It was a 5K walk/run at Claypit Hill School to support a local charity, Ben's Dream, that funds research for a cure for my daughter's disease (Sanfilippo Syndrome). Dylan was bewildered. He asked several times why we weren't also having a Dylan's Jog. He doesn't fully see the differences between himself and his sister. Mind you, his sister is 8 years old, but cognitively, she functions like a typical 10-12 month old. He knows that her "brain is broken" and that she will never regain the ability to talk. But, somehow, she is still his older sister. It is a wonder to me.
We may be a bit unique because my daughter has special needs and a rare disease, but we're normal folks. I put my pants on one leg at a time. I prefer beer to wine. I'm a dog person – although the younger of our two dogs is putting that to the test. I can jerry-rig just about anything, but there is very little I can actually fix. I still wear the "Looks Like Jesus, Throws Like Mary, Acts Like Judas" T-shirt I bought right after Johnny Damon left town (and I sometimes have to explain what it means).
