Changes to First-Day Schedule at Wayland High School
The changes below are a result of the Hurricane Irene-related power outage suffered at Wayland High School.

Principal Pat Tutwiler Thursday night announced changes to the first-day-of-classes schedule at WHS.
A power outage caused by Hurricane Irene led to the cancellation of freshman orientation. Therefore, the first day of classes, Tuesday, Sept. 6, has been adjusted to provide a sort of abbreviated orientation time for freshman.
The Sept. 6 schedule changes are as follows:

- 7:30 a.m. – ONLY ninth graders and transfer students and their peer mentors report to WHS. Also, Boston resident students should also report as there will be no additional bus service offered.
- 10 a.m. - All students report to the field house for the "welcome" ceremony.
Ninth graders, transfer students and peer mentors who have purchased a bus pass may ride according to the regular morning schedule. Bus schedules will be available on Wayland Patch Sept. 2.
Students in grades 10-12 who ride the bus should report to their bus stops 2.5 hours AFTER their original pick-up times (with the exception of Boston resident students; there will be no additional bus service to Boston).
