Claypit Hill School Searches for a New Principal

The school hasn't had to search for a principal in nine years. Now, the search is on.

In an email addressed to Claypit Hill Elementary School parents and staff members, Superintendent Paul Stein announced the search is on for a new principal.

For nine years, “Claypit Hill has enjoyed the skilled, resourceful leadership of Debbie Bearse,” he wrote. “The loss of Ms. Bearse’s rich institutional knowledge of Wayland’s schools (going back over 30 years) and her devotion to her many students will be greatly missed upon her retirement. I am confident, however, that we will find a strong leader who will enthusiastically step into the role. I plan to engage staff members and parents in this hiring process.”

Stein said that he has been also searching for members of the Selection Advisory Committee, and that the hiring process has three stages: information meetings; surveying the parents and school faculty; and candidate visits.
