The Concord River Is Low, So There's A Water Restriction In Wayland
The town has issued a water restriction.

WAYLAND, MA—The Department of Public Works recently issued an update on water conditions in Wayland, informing residents that the water restrictions had been upgraded.
As of Aug. 28, the level of Nonessential Outdoor Water Use Restrictions is the following:
- Underground sprinklers & above ground sprinklers attached to hoses: Underground and above ground sprinkler use is allowed 1 day per week. The designated day for outdoor water use is Wednesdays before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m.
- Handheld Hose: Handheld hose watering is permitted after 5 p.m.
Due to low water flows on the Concord River at USGS Streamflow Gauge, the Wayland Water Division must institute Nonessential Outdoor Water Use Restrictions based on the Wayland Water Management Act Permit, said the announcement.

This restriction will remain in place until the Streamflow increases to 156 cubic feet per second for 7 consecutive days or Sept. 30, whichever comes first.
This restriction is not based on any operational issue and is purely based on Streamflow restrictions written into Wayland’s Water Management Act Permit.
