A Haunted Homecoming in the Snow

The Wayland Public School Foundation hosts a Halloween Homecoming in spite of the scary weather.

Wayland Public Schools Foundation held its annual Halloween Homecoming Saturday evening as a freak October snowstorm struck the Northeast.

Despite the unexpected snowfall a large crowd came out in costume to celebrate the holiday and support the Wayland Public Schools Foundation as it kicked off its fall fundraising. The proceeds from ticket sales and event raffles went to support the efforts of the WPSF as it funds grants in support of the Wayland Public Schools.

The decoration and raffle baskets, put together by event co-chairs Beth Junkin and Paloma Ferreira, transformed Temple Shir Tikva into a venue filled with Halloween spirit.

"I absolutely love Halloween and Paloma has never really celebrated it since she grew up in Mexico," said Junkin, "but that didn't stop her from having fun with it."

The two created a fully Halloween-spirited atmosphere for the event, which included food and drinks, a creepy back drop and a room full of zombies that were there to shock those signing in.
