Residents Invited to a 1:1 Laptop Initiative Info Session

The discussion of a 1:1 laptop initiative at Wayland High School continues with this info session.

Principal Pat Tutwiler; Leisha Simon, director of school technology; and members of the Wayland Schools Technology Task Force will hold an information session Nov. 15 on the WHS 1:1 laptop initiative.. The session begins at 7 p.m.

"The 1:1 initiative is aimed at providing each student with a laptop from freshman through senior year for their use in class and at home," according to a press release. The program is intended to "enhance education through seamless integration of technology where it adds value to the process of learning; within a classroom, from classroom to classroom, and from school to home."

During the information session, leaders will discuss the importance of the 1:1 initiative to Wayland students, the logistics of how the program will work, and options for funding the program. A panel Q&A session will also allow members of the community to ask questions about the program.

Everyone is welcome at the Tuesday, Nov. 15 session at 7 p.m. in Room 1 (L1) of the Language Building at Wayland High School.
