Senior Starts Women Empowerment Club At Wayland High School

A senior at Wayland High School decided a women's empowerment club was needed.

WAYLAND, MA — Women face different, and unique, challenges that aren't even a concern for their male counterparts. The teenage years, too, make for a double whammy, given that these are formative years perhaps marked by self-doubt or identity struggles.

A senior at Wayland High School thought there needed to be an organization that could address all of this, a group designed for "girls, young or old, who strive to empower themselves by joining and conversing about common problems women face in society."

Senior Sharmila Mysore recently formed the Women Empowerment club at Wayland High School, and talks to The Wayland Student Press Network about this new endeavor.
