The Wayland Clergy Association, Transition Wayland, and Wayland Walks, a program of Wayland 375, are again sponsoring Walk to Worship during October. The weekend of October 4-6, Wayland houses of worship will be encouraging members of their communities to walk to their church, synagogue, mosque, or other place of worship, to walk to their neighbor’s house and carpool, or to ride their bicycles to either their neighbor’s house or their house of worship.
Walk to Worship is part of the Transition Wayland and Wayland 375 Wayland Walks project, which involves the creation of a master map of all the trails in Wayland. It is also part of Transition Wayland’s focus on community and its efforts to encourage people to transition toward a more resilient community. Transition is about neighbors helping neighbors move beyond fossil fuels and build a sustainable, resilient local economy and community in the face of peak oil and climate change.
We encourage you to join together with friends and neighbors and find a way to walk or bike to worship this coming weekend.
