Wayland Outages To Be Fixed By Midnight: Eversource
Almost 400 Wayland residents were still without power Friday after a strong storm on Wednesday.
WAYLAND, MA — Hundreds of Wayland residents will spend Friday in the dark due to lingering power outages from a Wednesday storm.
About 400 residents were still without power Friday morning, and the latest Eversource estimate says the power won't return until 11:59 p.m.
Outages were scattered across town, but the biggest was in the neighborhood near Claypit Hill Elementary School. About 255 people were without power there. A handful of other smaller outages were scattered north of Route 20 between Plain and Old Sudbury roads, and along a stretch of Old Connecticut Path south of Route 20.
Wayland had canceled school on Thursday after thousands were left without power after the Wednesday storm — but school was back on Friday morning ahead of the three-day weekend.
