Wayland Town Beach to Open Saturday: Patch Beach Guide
On Saturday, the Wayland Town Beach will officially open. Here's what you need to know about hitting the beach in Wayland this Summer.
WAYLAND, MA — Start digging up your beach towels and sunglasses because Summer is right around the corner.
The Wayland Town Beach will open for the season this Saturday, May 28, according to a post from the town's recreation department.
"Our Wayland Town Beach staff just finished up a full day of drills & training and are excited to open the beach this Saturday at 11:00 am!" - Wayland Recreation Department.
Don't get lost in the excitement though. Here's everything you need to know about going to the Wayland Town Beach in 2016:
Beach memberships:
Don't forget to sign up for a beach membership. Membership gets you full access to the beach, beach facilities and free parking.
Resident applications can be found here and non-resident applications can be found here. There's a $5 fee to get a replacement card.
Here are the rates for Wayland residents:
- Youth: $25
- Adults: $30
- Seniors (60+): $10
- Family max: $135
- Guest Pass: $5
- Walk-in: $5
Here are the rates for non-residents:
- Youth: $45
- Adults: $65
- Seniors (60+): $25
- Family max: $265
- Guest Pass: $10 per person; $40 family pass (admits 6 max)
- Walk-in: $10
Beach hours:
The beach is only open on weekends from Saturday, May 28 to June 11.
- Pre-season hours: 11:00am to 6:00pm.
Full-time operation begins on June 11.
- Beach hours: June 11 – July 31 are 10:00am – 8:00pm;
The post season begins August 1, and the beach officially closes on August 14.
- August 1 to August 14 : 10:00am – 7:30pm.
Boating information:
The Wayland Town Beach allows members to rent out sailboats, paddleboards, canoes, and kayaks. Rentals will cost $15 for each hour members spend out on the water. Members can also choose to reserve space on boat racks to store their own boats. Renting space on a rack costs $60 for Wayland residents and $80 for non-residents. Boats can be stored from April 1 to October 31.
