WPSF Receives $5,000 Donation from TD Bank
The Wayland Public Schools Foundation accepted the gift at TD Bank's grand opening in Wayland.
TD Bank celebrated the grand opening of a new north Wayland branch at 54 Boston Post Road on Saturday, Oct. 15. That same day, the Wayland Public School’s Foundation celebrated a $5,000 donation from the banking firms charitable arm.
“The Wayland Public Schools Foundation is thrilled and honored to have received such an incredibly generous $5,000 donation from TD Bank and its local branches in Wayland,” said WPSF President Leslie Cutitta via email. “This thoughtful act of corporate citizenship will be leveraged to inspire the kind of innovation and educational excellence that has kept Wayland one of the top school districts in the state.”
According to the organization’s website, WPSF awarded 26 grants last year worth a total of nearly $150,000. The funded projects included providing a camera to the Wayland Student Press Network, stringed instruments to replace aging instruments and a virtual chemistry lab for Wayland High School among many other projects ranging from professional development to physical education.

Jimmy Hernandez, spokesperson with TD Bank, said via email that the WPSF’s mission aligned well with the banks mission “of providing funds for innovative programming focused on education.”
TD Bank does not give a donation in conjunction with ever grand opening, but does so when the TD Charitable Foundation can identify a “community partner with like-minded priorities” and complete all the paperwork and process in time for the grand opening.
