WELLESLEY, MA — The Wellesley Police have released photos of the man they believe robbed the Bank of America on Route 16 on Sept. 25.
The Bank of America on Washington Street was robbed Monday just after 1 p.m. Wellesley Police and a State Police K-9 Unit searched the area for a suspect but came up dry. An employee at Bank of America called 911 to report that a man who didn't show any weapon had just robbed the bank at 35 Washington Street.
Police described the suspect as a man about 5'11 with a darker complexion, a muscular build, wearing a dark colored long sleeve shirt, sunglasses, a black baseball cap with a white oval shaped logo on it.
The man reportedly ran out of the bank through the back door. Witnesses told police the man then got into a dark dark colored sedan on Ledyard Street, but couldn't say which direction he went.
Police said as a precautionary measure, they asked St. John’s Elementary School located nearby to remain inside the building until Wellesley and State Police K-9 officers finished checking the area.
