Dana Hall Middle School Presents a Midsummer Night's Dream
The Middle School Presents a Midsummer Night's Dream at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 20 and at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 21 in Waldo.

The play is open to the public and free of charge.
“There is a reason A Midsummer Night’s Dream is among the first works of Shakespeare young people see and perform,” said English and Performing Arts teacher Elisebeth Fenstermaker. “The parallels drawn between the act of dreaming and the act of putting on a play are immediately recognizable and satisfying to young performers.”
Collaboration is the key to this production, with students helping to create all of the important elements of the play.

“At Dana, we believe that young women should be the next generation of creators and taste makers,” Fenstermaker continued. “To that end, the girls and I worked together on several key areas, including costume design, sound design and choreography. Two of our fairies, who have training in dance and gymnastics, choreographed the well-known fairy dance; another fairy, who is a musician, chose and is performing the fairy music on viola and piano. We collaborated with our librarians to research our approach to our costume design, and landed on a very English, Downton Abbey style of dress.”
The play includes 15 actresses and a nine-member student-run technical crew. Waldo Auditorium is located in the Classroom Building on the Dana Hall campus in Wellesley. For more information call (781) 235-3010.
