Weather permitting, week will end years of construction at Washington Street, Rte. 9.
Work on the Rte. 16 bridge over Rte. 9 should be wrapped up by the end of the week if weather holds, according to the Department of Transportation.
The project, which rebuilt the bridge, replacing the superstructure and center pier, according to the DOT's website, only has a few more days of construction left. The site also lists 2003 as the starting year of the project.
Adam Hurtubise, DOT spokesman, said final pavement on Rte. 16 was finished early this week. Traffic marking is scheduled for tonight and Thursday night, and a brick crosswalk is expected to be finished by today.
