True North Courses & Events: Nordic Walking

Nordic walking, described as cross-country skiing without the skis and snow, is the United States’ latest exercise phenomenon. Join North Hill, the evolution of senior living, and Kathy Ekdahl, personal trainer and fitness expert, for an introductory Nordic walking class on the beautiful grounds of Elm Bank in Wellesley. Poles will be provided or you can bring your own.

Developed in Finland, and already one of the top exercise activities in Europe, Nordic walking uses specially designed poles to provide a low impact, whole-body workout which can improve cardiovascular fitness, strengthen and tone upper body and leg muscles and burns up to 40% more calories than walking alone.

The course part of the True North Walks Series and is open to all active adults in the Boston area. Sponsored by North Hill located on the Needham/Wellesley line.
