Police Log: Whole Foods Shoplifter Arrested; Driver Arrested for OUI

Alleged Shoplifter Attempts to Steal Fish from Whole Foods

A shopper alleged attempted to get away without paying for a package of fish last week.

arrested Donna C. Paglia, 45, of Wellesley Jan. 17 for shoplifting by concealing a package of fish underneath her purse and then leaving the store.

According to Wellesley Police records clerk Sue Morse, a loss prevention specialist told an officer that Paglia hid the package under her purse in the front part of her shopping cart as she paid for other items. She then left the store and was stopped by the loss prevention specialist.

The package was worth $33.74, according to Morse.

Paglia had a “no trespass order” from the Newton Whole Foods, barring her from being on Whole Foods property, Morse said.

Paglia was charged with shoplifting and trespassing.

Driver Pulled Over for Traveling With Headlights Off at Night, Arrested for Drunken Driving

Andrew K. Roses, 25, of Natick was arrested last week for driving under the influence of alcohol after an officer pulled him over for traveling with his headlights off.

Officer Michael S. Gerard was on patrol on Washington Street Jan. 20 when he observed Roses driving without headlights. The car’s windows were fogged up as well, obstructing the driver’s vision, according to Morse.

Gerard pulled Roses over and detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from him. Roses failed two sobriety tests and was placed under arrest.

Tailgating Driver Arrested for Warrant-Related Charges

Rashawn Boyce, 24, of Dorchester was arrested last week on warrant-related charges after an officer pulled him over for tailgating vehicles on Route 9.

Officer Nate Derby observed Boyce driving closely behind other drivers Jan. 20 to the point where they would move out of the way to allow him to pass, according to Morse.

Derby pulled Boyce over and a routine check of his license showed there was a warrant out for his arrest from Boston District Court for motor vehicle offenses.
