Wellesley Teacher Lauren Schneider Named Patriots Cheerleader

Lauren Schneider, a Wellesley Middle School teacher, earned a spot on the 2014 New England Patriots Cheerleaders squad.

The 28-member squad was chosen from 320 applicants submitted during the audition process in April.

Schneider is from Nashua, N.H. and serves as a health and fitness teacher at Wellesley Middle. She's also a member of DanceWorks Boston.

The 2014 squad is 17 veteran cheerleaders and 11 rookies with hometowns in four of the New England states. They include students and professionals, a dentist, a cook, a business banking officer, and a Harvard graduate and neuroscience PhD candidate, Kelly Bennion, of Scottsdale, Ariz.
