2 Town Teens Perform in Opera at Harvard

Two Westborough musicians will perform with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras (BYSO) for a performance of Verdi’s Falstaff at the Sanders Theatre at Harvard University. Andrew Metzger, 16, will perform on double bass and Yeonkyu (Daryl) Yang, 17, will play trumpet for the performance. The show is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22.

The show includes Boston Youth Symphony musicians, professional singers and Handel and Haydn Society Chorus all coming together conducted by Music Director Federico Cortese with stage direction by Marc Astafan.

This is the fifth consecutive year that BYSO presents a full, semi-staged opera performance and is the only US youth orchestra to do so. The opera will be sung in Italian with English supertitles. It is in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Boston.

Tickets start at only $25 and discounted student and senior tickets are available by calling the Sanders Theatre Box Office at 617-496-2222. Free parking is available at the Broadway Garage on Felton Street.
