Plans are being discussed for a mural to be painted in the lobby of the school.

  • Number of teachers: 50 (approximate number of teachers; 20 classrooms)

 

New Teachers

  • Suzanne O’Rourke is a new art teacher.
  • Victoria Saldana is a new Math Plus tutor.
  • Molly Brogran is a new physical education teacher and is one of three PE teachers at Armstrong.
  • Jacqueline Hagenbuch is moving from second to third grade and will job share with Pamela Dunne to teach third grade in the afternoon.

  • The Armstrong Parent Group arranged for four new garden beds on the West Street side. 
  • Armstrong will have a new basketball hoop on the black top. 
  • Inside the school, wireless connectivity has been installed and all classroom teachers will get a netbook. 

  

Upcoming Open Door or Parent Open House Dates

  • Open Door Day is Tuesday, Aug. 30 from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m.
  • The Open House will be held Thursday, Sept. 22 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will include an Usborne book fair.

 

School Supply List Link

Meetings: APG's first meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the Armstrong library. Future meetings will be held the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Armstrong library.  Babysitting is available with advance notice.

Open Positions: Chairs are still needed for Enrichment Programs Coordinator and Staff Luncheon in May.

APG Special Project: The APG is planning to coordinate the painting of a mural in the lobby this school year. Details are still to be determined.
