School Population

New Teachers

• Colleen Hinson is a new third grade teacher.
• Christina Lee and Andrea Fogg are two new Special Education Learning Center teachers. Joan Eaton is a new speech and language pathologist. They will teach intensive special education students.
• Julie Lazaros is a new part-time occupational therapist coming from Barbara Kajos is a new special education paraprofessional coming from Hastings. Terese Joseph is a new special education paraprofessional. Kimberli Considine is a new long-term substitute special education paraprofessional for part of the year.
• Jane Cetrone is the new kitchen manager since Linda Smith retired. Diane Wegner is a new noon aide.
• There will be two student teachers this fall: Mrs. O'Neil in kindergarten and first grade and Miss Sweetapple in kindergarten and second grade.

Building Changes

• There was a small wall repair on the back playground this summer in addition to various interior electrical work and painting.
• Also, the music room has been moved and will join the art room as the fine arts room on the main hallway. The first half of the week, art classes will be held in the classroom. Music classes will be held there the second half of the week.

Upcoming Open Door and Parent Open House Dates

• Open Door Day will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 30. Students and families are welcome from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Kindergarten orientation will take place from 5:30 to 6 p.m. This is a change from the originally scheduled Open Door Day time of 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
• Open House will be held on Thursday, Sept. 22 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Parent Group

• FPG President is Kimberly Martin-Girard, kimberlymartingirard@yahoo.com
• The first FPG Meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Fales cafeteria. Future meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m.
• The group has open positions for a science cart coordinator and a raffle chairperson (the raffle is a fundraiser held during Family Fun Day in October).
