School Population

• Number of students: 418 in preschool through grade 3
• Number of teachers: 50, includes classroom teachers and specialists

New Teachers and Administration

• .
• Tiffany Bashaw and Nicole Sutka are new preschool teachers.
• Maura Jones is a new half-time kindergarten teacher (Maura comes to Hastings from , where she worked as a paraprofessional).

Building Changes

• New ceiling tiles and lighting were installed in the main hallway and there is fresh paint in the hallways and cafeteria. 
• Various roof repairs were done.
• There is new kitchen equipment.
• Students can expect to see a brand new aquarium in the front foyer which is due to arrive in September.

Upcoming Open Door or Parent Open House Dates

• New family and student orientation and tour will be on Wednesday, Aug. 24
• Kindergarten and first grade orientation will be on Monday, Aug. 29.
• Open House is on Thursday, Sept. 22.
