- Rona Richard will be joining the grade five staff as a member of the Rainbow Trout Team.
- Lynn Carlin is taking over as the teacher in the substantially separate special education class, as Caitlin Kewriga moves to the grade five Resource Room position vacated by Marlene Marien.
- Molly Brogan will be the newest member of the physical education team. Molly will be working with students here and at the .
- Jackie O’Rourke is taking over the art teaching position previously held by Sky Headland, who has moved to Florida.
- Courtney Galvin will be the new school psychologist replacing Dr. Chris Lopes. Chris has accepted a transfer to Gibbons Middle School as the school psychologist.
- Maura Kovaleski will be joining the special education staff as the team chairperson.
- Denise Whitehall and Meg Taraziak are joining the team of noon aides taking over for Frannie Small and Cynthia Arnold.
- Cynthia Arnold is the new front-office secretary replacing Carole Burnham.
- Kelly Barrett will be joining the special education staff two days a week as a BC/BA (Board Certified Behavior Analysts).
Building Changes and 10th Anniversary of Mill Pond

- As students and visitors enter the building, they will see the school's "Touchstone" engraved on a granite plaque that is mounted on one of the brick pillars in front of the school. This plaque is a gift from the class of 2017, the students who have just left Mill Pond to go on to Gibbons.
- Also, Principal Reene Hatherley reports that this is a very special year as it is the 10th year for Mill Pond. At some point during the year, she hopes to have a special tenth anniversary celebration.

- Open Door Day is Wednesday, Aug. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon.
- Grade 4 Open House is Tuesday, Sept. 20.
- Grade 5 Open House is Monday, Sept. 26.
- Grade 6 Open House is Tuesday, Sept. 27.

First day packet assembly on Aug. 25:
- First day packets will be assembled on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 10 a.m. in the cafeteria. Parents are welcome to come help assemble the packets. Children are welcome to come, too.
First MPPG Meeting:
- Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. This is the only evening meeting planned for the school year. All other MPPG meetings will be held on the third Wednesday of the month at 9 a.m.
