5 Things You Need to Know Today: July 9

A free hands-on workshop for children ages 6 through 10 will be held today at Lake Chauncy.

Each morning, Westborough Patch presents “5 Things You Need to Know,” a collection of announcements, events, reminders and odd little ditties to help you organize your day. What will you be doing today?

1. Today is the last day to nominate your favorite places for the Readers' Choice categories we've selected for Westborough.  We need your help compiling a list of "best" places to put to a vote. Today, we're highlighting "best hiking trail." 

2. A Teen TV Production Camp will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the . This program is open to teens entering grades 6 through 12 in the fall and participants will leave with their own video. For more information, call the library at 508-366-3050.

3. A will be held at from 10 a.m. to noon today. This workshop, titled Your Watershed and the Water Cycle, is free for children ages 6 through 10 and will feature hands-on activities. Registration is required: Call the OARS office at 978-369-3956

4. A registration form and $20 payment is required by 5 p.m. today at the Forbes Municipal Building, Room 21, Second Floor, for those planning to participate in the 's whale watching trip.
