The affordable apartments are part of a larger redevelopment project at 25 Connector Road, where the former extended-stay hotel has been converted into 109 rental units.

28 of the apartments will be rented to income-eligible households earning up to 80% of the area median income, according to housing lottery information published by MCO Housing Services.

The affordable units include 22 one-bedroom apartments and six two-bedroom apartments. Monthly rents are listed at $1,751 for one-bedroom units and $1,917 for two-bedroom units.

Amenities at the development include a fitness room, outdoor pool, elevators and on-site laundry facilities.

State Sen. Jamie Eldridge praised the effort in a recent social media post, calling Westborough and the Westborough Affordable Housing Trust “leaders in MetroWest for building significant affordable housing.”

“I am so grateful to the town of Westborough and the Westborough Affordable Housing Trust for being leaders in Metrowest for building significant affordable housing,” Sen. Eldridge wrote. “I continue to be in close touch with Allen Edinberg, who spearheaded this effort. Allen is one of the few Select Board members who has led in advocating for affordable housing at scale.”

A virtual public information meeting will be held via Zoom on June 10 at 6:30 p.m. The housing lottery application deadline is July 3.

The Westborough Affordable Housing Trust says its mission is to support the creation and preservation of affordable housing for low- and moderate-income households in town.
