Armstrong School Students 'Goin' Buggy' [IMAGE GALLERY]
The second grade class performs the annual show to kick off a study of insects.
A bug infestation was reported at Dozens of ladybugs, bumblebees, caterpillars, butterflies and others buzzed in the hallways as the second graders dressed in insect costumes to prepare for the production of Goin’ Buggy.
“The students look forward to this from the first day of second grade,” said Mara Power, second grade teacher and co-coordinator for this year’s show. “We normally put on the show to wrap up our insect unit each year. But this year we plan to beat the heat by performing the show a few weeks earlier and using it to introduce the unit. The kids are really excited to study insects now.”

The school production took place on Thursday afternoon and parents were invited to see the show on Thursday evening.
This is the nineteenth year that Goin’ Buggy has been part of the Westborough second grade curriculum, featuring musical favorites like That’s No Way to Treat a Ladybug, The Honeybee Song, Fuzzy Little Caterpillar, The Buggy Wuggy and The Bug’s Bill of Rights.

“I like being a bumblebee,” said 8-year-old Cameron Eggels. “I get to make honey and stuff.”
Butterfly Melissa McMillen, 8, said her favorite part of the show was “dancing around and having fun” with her friends.
Second grade teacher Michelle Casciano is producing the show with Power.
“The kids love it. We’re having fun,” she said.
Second graders at and elementary schools will be performing the show later in the month.
