'Boston Strong' Sign on Route 9 Supports Hair Stylist and Daughter

And, the Boston Strong Celeste-A-Thon will be held May 13.

Celeste Corcoran lost her legs in the Boston Marathon bombings. And her 18-year-old daughter Sydney was injured was injured in the attack.

That's why a sign on Route 9 East in Westborough has read "Boston Strong. Let Freedom Ring" since a week ago Friday.

The sign is among the ways Essential Salon Products is supporting the Corcorans.

Celeste Corcoran has been a stylist at EMERGE Spa and Salon on Newbury Street in Boston for the past 13 years.

The Boston Strong Celeste-A-Thon will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, May 13.

The proceeds will benefit the Celeste and Sydney Recovery Fund established by the family. The fund had raised $676,706 as of 3 p.m. Sunday, according to its gofundme page.

"Being a hair dresser, you're on your legs the whole day," Essential Salon Products Executive Vice President Renee Shakour said.

"We know she'll overcome this. Bostonians are tough."
