Earth Day Cleanup - Trashed Trolley Trail
I've walked that trail that cuts a straight line between houses on one side and an office park on the other quite a few times, but I've never seen it as full of trash as I did this week.
Took a quick walk the other day on the trolley trail that runs from the back of my place next to the post office to the entrance to the Stop & Shop plaza off Lyman St. I’ve walked that trail that cuts a straight line between houses on one side and an office park on the other quite a few times, but I’ve never seen it as full of trash as I did this week.
You can see what I mean by clicking through the pictures here. But, as bad as it looks, there IS a bright side - there always is. We’re only a week away from the 14th annual Westborough Community Land Trust Town-Wide Earth Day Cleanup that will happen rain or shine next Saturday, April 21st. We’ll have two start times: 6:30 am for those who want to get it early to clean up the intersections at both Rt. 9/30 and Rt. 9/135 and 9:30 am for families and those wanting a later start to meet at the Lake Chauncy parking lot to pick up trash bags and easy to follow maps with pictures to a choice of 30 or so sites in town in real need of cleaning.

Please make a difference and help with the cleanup next Saturday morning. It doesn’t take much time, but you’ll make an immediate and very gratifying difference. For more information and/or to suggest sites in town that could use a good cleaning, please either call or email me at 508-446-7790 or earthday@westboroughlandtrust.org.
