The latest from the Eldridge, Cavaretta and Lamb campaigns.
State Sen. Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton) visited the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough last Wednesday.
He spoke to residents at the rehabilitation and skilled nursing center about his positions on issues, including state and federal funding for nursing homes.
The Beaumont is part of the Salmon family's independently-owned health and retirement homes across Central Massachusetts.

State Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr (R-Gloucester) said today that he would appoint Dean Cavaretta (R-Stow) to serve on the legislature’s Joint Committee on Education if Cavaretta is elected to the Senate in November.

Tarr said that Cavaretta’s experience as an educator and his passion for strengthening education qualify him for service on this committee.
The Joint Committee on Education has subject matter jurisdiction over all matters relating to education through the twelfth grade.
State representative candidate Marty Lamb recently campaigned with his mother, Marilyn, who is talking with senior voters.
The National Association of Social Workers Massachusetts Chapter – Political Action for Candidate Election has re-endorsed Jamie Eldridge for State Senator for the Middlesex and Worcester District.
The NASW MA Chapter is the largest social work organization in the state with 8,400 social worker members.
State Senate candidate Dean Cavaretta announced today that he will hold an event with State Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr and former state Rep. Karyn Polito from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Southborough’s Community House.
The event will be an opportunity for Tarr and Polito to talk further about why they feel Cavaretta’s experience as a certified teacher is needed in the Massachusetts State Senate.
