Addition Eyed for Cumberland Farms Facility

The building is on Flanders Road.

Cumberland Farms has proposed about a 42,000-square-foot addition to its just over 500,000-square-foot distribution center, project engineer Stephen DeCoursey told the planning board Tuesday night.

Cumberland Farms has applied to the planning board for an earth moving special permit for the project, at 165 Flanders Road.

Tuesday night, the board opened its public hearing on the request, discussed it with DeCoursey, and continued the hearing to 7 p.m. April 23 in the Forbes Municipal Building.

The conservation commission recently issued an order of conditions on the project, said DeCoursey, an engineer with Bohler Engineering in Southborough.

The proponents plan to meet with selectmen later this month, he said.
