About Westborough Youth Basketball Association
The Westborough Youth Basketball Association (WYBA) is a travel basketball program which is provides a competitive travel basketball experience to girls and boys in grades 4 through 8. WYBA teaches players basic and advanced basketball skills which will help players to play competitive basketball high school and beyond. WYBA is a supportive environment in which children who live in Westborough MA or attend Westborough MA schools can learn the proper fundamentals of team basketball in a competitive league format.
Girls and boys entering Grades 4-8 who are interested in playing Travel Basketball are eligible to tryout in late September / early October. Westborough teams participate in the Metrowest Basketball League with hundreds of teams from nearby towns. Practices start the last week of October, the 12-game schedule starts in early December and games are usually on Sundays until early playoffs in early March. The program is separate from the extremely popular Westborough Rec Department basketball programs, and WYBA encourages players to play BOTH Rec and Travel Basketball.
