Eateries Looking to Replace Bagel Bistro

The Bagel Bistro's current location might house at least one new restaurant.

Health Inspector Terry Gilchrist told the Westborough Board of Health in her January report that she has received calls "from several people who want to put in food services in the old Bagel Bistro location" at 72 East Main St.

"The owner wants to split the facility and make it into two spaces," Gilchrist wrote.

The Bagel Bistro, a restaurant, caterer and wholesale bakery, plans to move across the street into the Downtown Crossing space recently vacated by the Bangkok Thai Restaurant.

The Bagel Bistro has rented space at 72 East Main St. for nearly 16 years, starting May 15, 1997, owner-executive chef Stephen Chitow has said.
