“As a high school athlete [in the 70s] I couldn’t have imagined the tremendous progress we’ve made in women’s high school sports. It’s been very rewarding to be a part of that, as an athlete, as a coach and as a parent.” Lynn MacDonald Couturier

Frank J. DeSiata, Class of 1966

“I’ve had the honor to know Frank since elementary school. We played Little League and Babe Ruth together…. It’s a privilege for me to present this lifelong friend into the Westborough Hall of Fame.”  Jan Gebo, Introductor

“It’s been an honor for me to be able to give back to the community that means so much to me… 45 years later I’m being honored by Westborough High School, the school I graduated from in 1966. It doesn’t get any better than that.” Frank J. DeSiata

Jennifer (Gorak) Finnerty, Class of 1990

“She took her experience as a student athlete and generously gave back what she had learned to the next generation, as a coach, a mentor and a teacher. She opened our eyes to women’s sports and the great woman within… This honor is well-deserved and extremely cool.” Chris Gorak, as read by Diane Gorak, Introductor

“I truly have a pride in this town, in this community and in this school system. It is such an honor to be inducted here today.”  Jennifer (Gorak) Finnerty

Glenn Flanigan, Class of 1980

“Glenn is the type of guy – he was and is today – that gets to where he’s going in life.” John Doyle, Introductor

“Discipline, responsibility, teamwork, motivation, drive, leadership – it all comes through sports and it’s such a great venue for kids growing up to get that experience.”  Glenn Flanigan

 Art Kojoyian, Class of 1945

“Coach Kojoyian always had a plan and a program. Everybody had to block and tackle, and winning was most important… He’s still coaching today. This is his sixtieth year as a football coach. He’s just as good as he was then.” Harry Crump

“Westborough High School was great to me. It prepared me for the game of life, and it’s enabled me to go on and do what I wanted to do.” Art Kojoyian

Clark Masters, Coach

“Coach Masters knew that running and being on a team would give a kid self-esteem, make them confident, give them character, and this is really what he was all about – this is what he wanted to do for kids.”  Michael Clark, Introductor

“The most important byproduct that sports gives kids are the tools to become good citizens...over the years Westborough has had coaches that have believed that winning on the field is important, but they also believed that winning off the field is more important. I am so proud that I have made a difference in my students, my athletes and my family.” Clark Masters

John P. Smith, Class of 1973 (not present)

“I would like to thank everyone involved, teammates, coaches, and last but not least, my mother and father for encouraging and supporting both my brother and I while we participated in sports.”  John Smith

Jay Tortora, Class of 1970

“Jay was the last Westborough High School athletic person to play four sports in one school year – football, basketball, baseball and track in 1968-1969…. Jay Tortora not only has contributed [to Westborough High School athletics], he still is [contributing] today.” John Hayes, Introductor

“I’m just speechless; there are so many people I want to thank… Westborough is a great place, and it’s great to come back here... Thank you.” Jay Tortora
