Election Drawing Little Interest

Voting in Westborough during Tuesday's special state election for U.S. Senate started slowly.

As of 8:23 a.m., there were 53 votes cast in Precinct 2, which votes in the Hastings Elementary School gym.

As of 8:35 a.m., there were 204 votes cast total at the Gibbons Middle School gym, which serves Precincts 1 and 3.

And as of 8:53 a.m., there were 252 votes cast total at the Mill Pond School gym, which serves Precincts 4 and 5.

Westborough's special state election polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Republican Gabriel Gomez faces Democrat Edward Markey.
