Emery Family Farm Wants to Turn Home Into Two

The family met with the Westborough Zoning Board of Appeals on Monday night.

Newlywed Wesley Buckalew wants to help his parents continue expanding the Emery Family Farm.

"In order for us to be able to do that, I need to be able to live on the farm and not live in my parents' house" on the farm, Buckalew told the Westborough Zoning Board of Appeals on Monday night.

Buckalew's parents, Timothy Buckalew and Leigh Emery, have asked the board to allow them to create a two-family lot out of the single-family home on the farm, at 5 Emery Road.

Toward that end, the couple has asked the board for a variance from the dimensional schedule in the Westborough zoning bylaws, as well as a 2004 variance decision allowing for the single-family home, according to the public hearing notice.

The board asked the family to work with Building Commissioner Tin Htway on the type of house envisioned there, and continued the public hearing to 7:30 p.m. June 10 in the Forbes Municipal Building.
