Energy Efficiency Firm Plans Layoffs in Portland, Ore.

One of Conservation Services Group's contracts there was not renewed. Office will remain open.

A Westborough-based energy efficiency firm will lay off some of its Portland, Ore. employees because one of its contracts in that area was not renewed.

Conservation Services Group Senior Vice President of Human Resources Maureen Huffam said Monday that it was "difficult to speculate" how many employees would be affected. The firm is targeting Dec. 31, but possibly early January, for the staffing changes, she said.

"Some are going to be relocating to other CSG offices," while others would pursue other jobs in the industry, Huffam said.

Some have asked about moving to the Westborough office, "so we'll be bringing them back here," she said.

CSG had that particular contract in Portland for about five years, she said.
