Local educator Mary Kate Christie, M.Ed., hosts Learning from the Heart, a free workshop series for children who struggle academically or emotionally. The program kicks off with an information night for parents on July 15th at 7 pm. Parents and their children will then meet twice a week for the month on August. (The program will also be offered on different days at the YMCA's Beginning Years Family Network center in Sutton.)
The program is designed for those 7 to 19 years old who find school and relationship building to be challenging. The goal of the program is to make reading, writing, math and personal interactions easier as students and parents experience movements designed to grow and stimulate the brain.
