Love Letters: The Intimate Correspondence of John and Abigail Adams

In celebration of National Library Week, the Westborough Public Library will be presenting, “Love Letters: The Intimate Correspondence of John and Abigail Adams” on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.

Thomas Macy and Patricia Bridgman, who regularly appear as John and Abigail at the Adams National Historic Sites in Quincy, have over thirty years of living history experience between them.  During their presentation, the audience hears letters beginning at John’s and Abigail’s early courtship, and continuing through the year 1777.

The Adamses’ correspondence gives an unparalleled insight into one of the world’s great love affairs. Learn more about these iconic personalities as they reveal their teasing humor, their homely pleasure in their children and their farm, their deepest hopes for their nation, and their undying love and respect for one another.  Following the letters presentation, John and Abigail are available to answer questions and engage in conversation with the audience.
