Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

Gibbons Middle School eighth-grader Conner Schoen will represent Westborough on Gov. Deval Patrick's community service team today. Schoen is among this year's Project 351 ambassadors, all eighth-graders chosen by their school superintendents for their volunteerism, event officials said in a press release. More than 300 students statewide will attend a town hall meeting with Patrick at the State House this morning, officials noted. Patrick and the students then will do community service among five non-profit and educational agencies before returning to the State House to "reflect on the day and celebrate the legacy of" Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the press release said. Patrick launched Project 351 during his 2010 inauguration to celebrate King's legacy, officials noted.
