Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

Westborough Girl Scout troop 30633 is holding a textile recycling event on Saturday, Nov. 21, at Westborough High School from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations may be dropped off at the main entrance. At 2 p.m., the truck from Bags2School will pick up the donations. "The textile recycling events held by the troop have been very successful," said an organizer. "The 21 members of the troop are planning for a trip in June 2016. The troop members is providing babysitting services and collecting cans and bottles for the refund.
