How Long Have You Attended Town Meeting?

Last Saturday's session drew a number of first-timers -- and some that have attended for decades.

Westborough Personnel Board Chairman James Parker Jr. was in a special class during last Saturday's annual town meeting.

Parker began attending Westborough town meetings in 1954, he told the Westborough High School auditorium crowd.

And Parker wasn't even the longest-tenured town meeting participant in the room Saturday.

"A warm Westborough welcome," Harrington said.

Harrington noted that Westborough High National Honor Society and Student Council members were providing babysitting services.

The Westborough Woman's Club provided coffee and pastries outside the auditorium.

Westborough Boy Scout Troops 4 and 100 handed voters portable microphones during Saturday's afternoon session, with Troop 382 handling the evening discussion, Harrington said.
