Labor Day Marks End of Summer at Westborough Town Hall

Capital and budget planning kicks off on Tuesday.

Tuesday, town officials' work pace begins accelerating toward the March town meeting, Town Manager Jim Malloy says.

Summer is a time for town officials to "ease off a little bit on meetings, and have the ability to do some of the implementation things that have been approved," Malloy said Thursday in his office.

Labor Day marks "the end of summer, and the start of work," he said.

Assistant Town Manager/Human Services Director Kristi Williams is preparing the capital planning memo to all departments and staff, Malloy said. Malloy, meanwhile, is working on his budget proposal.

"April 1 through Sept. 1 is implementation time. Sept. 1 through March is nose to the grindstone," Malloy said.
