Learn About Word Later this Month

The Westborough Public Library offers a hands-on Microsoft Word class on Thursday, June 26, from 1 to 3 p.m.  

Class size is limited to 12 people; registration is required with preference to Westborough residents.  For more information or to register, contact the Library reference desk at 508-366-3050. This class is offered as part of the Discover Your Next Chapter: Lifelong Learning Project.

Introduction to Microsoft Word is designed for people with no prior experience. Basic Microsoft Word tools and features will be covered such as: creating a document, editing text, modifying the appearance of text, inserting tables, graphical objects and special characters, as well as proofing documents, controlling page appearance and printing features. The class will use the 2010 version of the software presented on a Windows PC platform. The instructor will point out the minor differences between versions where they exist. 

Students should be familiar with using personal computers and have used a mouse and keyboard. You should be comfortable in the PC Windows environment and you should be able to launch and close programs; navigate to information stored on the computer; and manage files and folders.

The class instructor is Mr. William Domings, a local resident.
