Westborough Patch asked Krystle Noyes, salon leader at the Westborough salon, 276 Turnpike Rd., what is the hot hair trend for Westborough kids this school season. Here is what we learned:
Natural hairstyles – Long, wavy, short, curly, sleek, straight – if it looks natural, it’s in style this fall. For inspiration, look to the new Princess Kate Middleton who has naturally long, wavy hair that looks great up or down.
Short styles – For the fashionista looking for a short and unique cut, try a short bob. Victoria Beckham and Rihanna are just a few of the many celebs that can be seen wearing this cute and fashionable style. For girls looking to spice things up, check out Emma Watson’s pixie cut. This is a great style for those daring enough to try it

Faux hawk – For boys looking to rock a new cut, David Beckham’s famous faux hawk is a carefree style that looks great and can easily be re-created. This style is shorter on the sides and longer on the top which allows it to be either spiked up or combed over (for a less edgy look).
Superhero cuts – From Ryan Reynolds as the Green Lantern to Chris Evans as Captain America, the clean cut all-American look is hot right now. These short, spiky scissor cuts are great for younger boys. They’re easy to maintain and quick to style.

Dark colors – If you’re looking to color your hair, change your look with a darker color for fall. Darker colors, like dark brown and auburn, hide the damage that has been done to your hair from the summer heat, and are a lot easier to upkeep. Add some caramel colored highlights to darker colored hair to create contrast, depth, shine, and brighten up your skin tone.
Easy maintenance cuts – Choose a no-fuss, low maintenance hairstyle to make getting ready in the morning that much easier.
