The following information was obtained from the logs of the Westborough police and fire departments and scanner reports. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Here are excerpts from the Westborough police and fire logs. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests; other than that, we pick out incidents you might find interesting.

Saturday, May 5

2:28 a.m.: Officers Brian Massey and Caleb Polseno were joined by Sgt. Todd Rossi for a traffic incident at the intersection of Turnpike Road and Lyman Street. ARRESTED: Michael B. Caruso, 23, 28 Eben St., Milford. CHARGES: OUI liquor, failure to stop for a police officer while operating motor vehicle, speeding, failure to stop/yield.

4:25 a.m.: An ambulance was requested on Mathieu Drive. Westborough paramedics and Officer Caleb Poleseno assisted. A patient was taken to the hospital.

7:42 a.m.: Westborough paramedics helped an elderly woman who was reportedly suffering with chest pressure and shortness of breath. The woman was taken to a hospital from Lyman Street.

1:45 p.m.: Westborough police received an anonymous tip alleging a Westborough resident is in possession of child pornography. No finding has been made. The case is under investigation.

4:28 p.m.: A hit and run crash was reported at the intersection of Turnpike Road and Lyman Street. Sgts. Todd Rossi and Peter Goodney were joined by Officer Richard Trainor at the scene. A field interrogation report was filed.

4:50 p.m.: An item was found on Mohawk Drive that may be related to previous Westborough crimes. Officer Richard Trainor investigated the report. A field interrogation report was filed.

5:05 p.m.: Sgt. Todd Rossi responded to reported vandalism at the Green paint was reportedly sprayed on the rear auditorium door and the outdoor concession stand. The writing was said to be illegible. A field interrogation report was filed.

6:03 p.m.: Sgts. Peter Goodney and Todd Rossi were joined by Officer Richard Trainor in assisting with an incident on Warren Street at which a patient of a residential home had left the facility. She was found walking down the street. An ambulance was requested and the woman was taken to a hospital.

10:08 p.m.: Westborough firefighters, Sgt. Todd Rossi and Officer Richard Trainor helped on West Main Street for a reported oven fire.
Sunday, May 6

9:43 a.m.: Officers Clifford Luce and Tyson Delong investigated a report of an intoxicated patron at the South Street Diner. A 32-year-old Westborough man was placed in protective custody.

11:28 a.m.: Westborough paramedics and Officer Charles Dapolite responded to a request for emergency medical services on Granger Road. A patient was taken to the hospital.

12:28 p.m.: Officers Charles Dapolte and Tyson Delong assisted with a reported shoplifting incident on Lyman Street. ARRESTED: Elinor J. Paul, 58, 160B West Spruce St., Milford. CHARGES: Shoplifting by asportation.

12:40 p.m.: Emergency medical services were requested on Grove Street. Westborough paramedics and Officer Leeanne Baker helped at the residence. A patient was taken to the hospital.

3:06 p.m.: Officer Tyson Delong investigated a reported disabled vehicle on Turnpike Road.

4:31 p.m.: An ambulance was requested on Lyman Street. Westborough paramedics responded.

6:10 p.m.: Emergency medical services were requested on Lyman Street. Westborough paramedics assisted.

10:11 p.m.: Westborough paramedics and Sgt. Peter Goodney assisted on Oak Street for a reported medical emergency. A patient was taken to the hospital.

Monday, May 7

4:23 a.m.: An ambulance was requested on Spruce Street. Westborough paramedics and Officer Joshua Croft helped at the scene. A patient was taken to the hospital.

10:22 a.m.: Emergency medical services were requested on Turnpike Road. Westborough paramedics and Officer Paul Pinto investigated. A patient was taken to the hospital.

12:58 p.m.: responded to a report of a suspicious powder found at on Milk Street. The store evacuated. A state hazardous materials unit was called to the scene. The suspicious matter was found to be sugar. The story can be found on Westborough Patch.

1:35 p.m.: A larceny was reported on Lyman Street. Officer Leeanne Baker assisted with a field interrogation report.

2:12 p.m.: A two-car crash was reported at the intersection of Lyman and Haskell streets. No injuries were reported. An alleged fuel spill was investigated. Westborough firefighters and Sgt. Peter Goodney arrived at the location. A field interrogation report was filed.

2:58 p.m.: Officer Leeanne Baker and Officer Paul Pinto investigated a report that a man was sitting on the ledge of a top floor window at the on Turnpike Road. A caller said she was concerned for his safety. She said it appeared he had taken the window out and was sitting in it. No one fitting that description was found.

3:38 p.m.: Westborough paramedics responded to a report of a man having chest pain and shortness of breath in a doctor’s office on East Main Street. The man was taken to a hospital.

11:29 p.m.: A crash was reported on High Street Extension.

Tuesday, May 8

7:16 a.m.: Officer Brian Massey assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road. The vehicle was said to be stopped in a “bad spot” of the high speed lane. The hood of the car reportedly came up and went against the front windshield. The car was said to be drivable and was removed from the roadway. The woman reportedly was involved in a crash on the Mass Pike a short time earlier.

8:28 a.m.: Sgt. Peter Goodney and Officer Leeanne Baker investigated a report that three suspicious men were loitering in the parking lot of the on West Main Street. The men were not found when police arrived.

5:59 p.m.: Officer Dean Paine responded to a report of an ongoing argument between neighbors on Chestnut Street. A field interrogation report was filed.

6:45 p.m.: A crash was reported on Turnpike Road. Officer Dean Paine assisted those involved.

10:55 p.m.: An ambulance was requested on Lyman Street. Westborough paramedics responded.
