Westborough Planning Board member Joanne Mallozzi plans to resign this summer, months into her five-year term.
Selectmen Chairman Ian Johnson said Tuesday night that selectmen have not received a letter of resignation from Mallozzi, whom voters re-elected unopposed at the March 5 annual town ballot. Johnson said he believed Mallozzi's resignation would be effective on July 31.
Mallozzi briefly mentioned her plans Tuesday night while trying to fill another planning board vacancy, this one for about 10 months.

"I'm certainly going to miss it. But, hopefully, I'm going to be back someday," said Mallozzi, who said she will have served six and a half years at the end of July.
Mallozzi, planning board member Brian Bush and selectmen interviewed Cross Street resident Christopher Noonan on Tuesday night.

Noonan and former planning board member Edward Newton Jr. are candidates for appointment by the two boards to serve until the March 2014 annual town election. The post became open when Trevor Beauregard resigned this spring. The remaining two years of Beauregard's five-year term, which expires in 2016, will be on the March 2014 ballot. A third applicant, Piccadilly Way resident James Alexander, withdrew his candidacy, Johnson said.
The two boards will vote July 9 to appoint someone until next March, Johnson said.
