IMAGE GALLERY: Marching Band Jamboree a Hit [VIDEO]

Westborough High School Marching Band, along with three other marching bands, entertained a packed house at Saturday's jamboree.

hosted the third annual on Saturday, Oct. 29. Despite an impending snowstorm, friends and families of the four marching bands filled the bleachers of the Westborough High School gym. The Westborough Fine Arts Education Association provided a buffet of tasty treats to enjoy between the performances announced by Steve Hilton.

Millbury High School Marching band kicked off the festivities with their show titled "Latin Fiesta," including music from Arturo Sandoval, Chuck Mangione and Michel Camilo. At this year's MICCA marching band state finals, Millbury earned a bronze metal. Drum Major Nicole Wright and Color Guard Captain Erica Pabon led the band in a crowd-pleasing performance.

Following Millbury, Chelmsford High School Marching Band took the floor with a lively performance of "The Who's 'Tommy'," which was arranged by Michael Klesch and Thom Hannum. Drum Majors Leigh-Anne Valleley and Rachael Kane led the band, which is directed by Matt Sexauer, Assistant Director Alley Lacasse, Visual Ensemble Coach Alycia Haley, and percussion directors Curtis Hartshorn and Mike Linnehan.

The Grey Ghost Marching Band from Westford Academy performed selections from their half-time show, "Class of '79," directed by George Arsenault, Assistant Director Jennifer Tietze, and Colorguard Instructor Christina Repucci. Drum Majors Andrew Kaster and Sam Lovitz led the band in an entertaining show.

Westborough High School Ranger Marching band finished off the jamboree with their halftime show, which is a tribute to solar energy. The crowd roared with approval upon hearing the classics, "Sunshine of Your Love," "Walking on Sunshine," and "You are the Sunshine of My Life." Matt LeFebvre directed the band, and Color Guard Captain Kate Barrette and Drum Majors Jackie Andrews and Sam Mayo led the band in a memorable performance.
