Milford Man in Westborough Gun Theft Case Held Without Bail

A Milford man charged with stealing guns and ammunition from a Westborough home will be held in jail pending a dangerousness hearing in late October.

Michael T. Ostaski, 33, was ordered held without bail until an Oct. 21 dangerousness hearing in Worcester Superior Court according to the Milford Daily News. On Sept. 24, a Worcester County grand jury handed up an indictment charging Ostaski with two counts of carrying a firearm without a license as a career criminal, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, receiving stolen property, possession of heroin, unlawful possession of ammunition and three counts of possessing a large-capacity feeding device.

Ostaski pleaded not guilty to the charges during his arraignment last week.

Westborough police had been investigating the house break, which happened on Sept. 14, on Nottingham, during which two handguns, five rifles, a large amount of ammunition, and jewelry was taken.

Two days later, on Sept. 16, police and paramedics responded to CVS at 500 Grafton St. in Worcester for a medical emergency. While searching for identification during the emergency, police located two handguns and assorted jewelry in the man’s backpack. He was subsequently arrested and charged.
